Exhaust catback

I'm after some advice guys, I'm getting my exhaust done tomorrow, and it'll either be straight piping the backbox or the backbox and the resonator, don't want it to be earth shatteringly loud just loud enough to make heads turn etc. This would be considered a catback system wouldn't it? As in removing the Res and backbox? I also don't want it to sound like a fart can but a full miltek system or custom system is out of budget so straight piping seems to be the best option available to me. Cheers peeps
