It was all going great until today when someone was on my side of the road on a blind bend and I swerved and ripped my near side front wheel off :'(

As upsetting as it is to have your car damaged, it can all be replaced. Did they stop?

Yeah luckily all the safety features meant I didn't get hurt just shook me up bad. No they never stopped so I've had to file a police report and pay my £650 excess!

Nice to hear no-one hurt. Wow- that's a helluva excess.
I had £100 excess for over 20yrs, so thought take a cut in the premium and raised excess to £350 cos never claimed on insurance.
Then guess what................ LOL. Yep! had to claim.. sods law I spose

Well thankfully they're only making me pay £350 of it and should have it back within a few weeks

Bcos they were applying under 21s excess but that excess only applies to named drivers whereas I'm the policy owner. Gotta read small print

Yeah turns out Im entitled to new for old replacement! it was a collision with a tree root at 45mph :/
