  • Engine light!

    It has happened
My 2012 Hickory Dsport PLUS is upset with me.
Engine light came on today along with "Engine repair needed" on the display

Will call Citroen 1st thing tomorrow to hopefully get it booked in and fixed under warranty straight away.

Hopefully can be fixed under warranty.

If it's under warranty they should provide a courtesy car in my opinion.

        Hope it's sorted quickly.

I did ask about a Courtesy car,
They said it would be a £8.50 Charge for the day.

          Should this be free then?

The car is just out of the Original Warranty by 1month, but the car came with 12 months Citroen Select Warranty.

The car has developed a fault, through no fault of your own and it's still in warranty.

In my opinion, they should provide a courtesy car for as long as it takes to fix the issue.

              Ah ok,
I will speak to them on Thursday and see what they say.

Should they also arrange to collect the car?
I don't particualry want to drive 20 odd miles with the Engine light on.
Other Option is to use the AA to drive it there on a flatbed.

I would ask them. If they say it's ok to drive on, get it in writing (email) and then you're covered.

Spose could be a bit hit and miss as they don't know what is wrong with it.

Just the joys of owning a Dsport PLUS I guess.

Just as BeefMasta has said, your car is in warranty and therefore they should provide you with a courtesy car anyway.

If it were me I'd be demanding one until the issue is resolved.

                      Ok,

Maybe the £8.50 for the days use of the Courtesy car is untilk they know what is wrong with it. Once it is confirmed to be a Warraty issue then the car should be
                      free perhaps

I will discuss all this with the Service department.

TBH you shouldn't be paying £0.01 a day. My car broke down 2 weeks after buying it and I was without it for close to 2 months. I requested/demanded a courtesy car which was given to me at no expense at all.

Should be the same for you, but yeah, see what they say anyway.

I'd recommend getting in writing too that they plan to refund any costs you've already paid for the courtesy car once they've confirmed if it's in warranty.

                          Good luck!

Charges for courtesy cars are usually for insurance. Your own insurance may cover this - check with your insurance company.
