Hi,
If anybody could help I'd really appreciate it.
Car is currently in the garage after going into limp mode with "Engine Faulty" warning light. Got the car home, few days later started it up without issue. Since then battery seems to be flat, and it won't start. Tested the battery with the car off, showed 12v... so bit confused on what that might be.
Garage have called, they saying new battery need (which I was presuming would be the case). Issue is apparently on piston No.3, but they also want to do 4x spark plugs & 1x coil pack. Have explained that I only had the plugs done few weeks prior, but they seem insistent on doing the lot anyway - apparently they always do that as a package. Could not really understand a reason for that despite asking a few times. Does this seem to make sense?
When I've pushed back on that, they have also mentioned the coolant is low, which got onto a conversation when they was saying about head gasket replacement, which is not a job anybody can set up properly, so would be a new engine. They now have further called back after I said I'd think about it to say there is water in the oil. Full oil change was completed by another garage last week, and they mentioned no issues at the time.
I'm really confused. I don't know if what I'm being told makes sense, or if I'm being taken for a ride.
Any help much appreciated.
