Apple CarPlay

Right guys, I've read a hundred forum posts... Facebook posts which aren't clear and seem to just end... as well as spoken to my dealer who said CarPlay can't be added by them even for a fee sadly.

How can I get it myself? I suspect it needs a subscription to Citroens online website... can I lawfully get this myself without being a mechanic and how much are we chatting?
