  • Hole in On-plug Coil

We have a DS3 156PS which has given misfire fault codes. By swapping plugs and coils between cylinders, I isolated it to no 4 cylinder on plug coil. On close inspection, this had a white spot on the rubber surface. On scratching this, I could see it was a hole, and it was about level with the coil to plug HT connection. I replaced the coil and all was well for 10 miles until the same thing happened again. Looking down at no 4 sparkplug, you can see where it's been shorting, and it could be the bore isn't quite round at this point, preloading the rubber.
Has anyone encountered anything similar? First thoughts are use a long thin file to clean up the bore. Maybe also get an endoscope to inspect more closely? This part of the bore is within the head, and I'd rather note remove that! Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Dave
