Strut top mount orientation

Hi guys, I am a little confused about the orientation of the top strut mounts. I have done lots of looking online and it says the locating hole should face to the outside of the car and this makes sense to me, What confuses me is that the locating hole is inline with the strut hole and my o/s locating hole is offset to the front of the car but the n/s locating hole is offset to the rear of the car.
Does this mean that the strut top mounts should be fitted offset to each other?
