Heating knob or cable broken

Newby here Hi all

Can any one help.I was out for a drive today and when I went to turn the heating knob up to hot it felt springy.I eventualy got it to turn up it felt very slack.
Now it is always cold air.

Straight into your dealer, it could be that the dial is broken on the back or the pinion is damaged.

Is there no way to DIY it as its a 60 plate.
And them dealers can cost a bit.

You could do if you wish, easiest option would be to source a heater panel from a salvage and just swap them over.
