  • Usb/aux detection not working

Hi folks looking for some help I have a 2011 plate DS3

It has AUX AND USB capability and ports but for some reason when I plug in said devices and choose the
"Source" button as advised in the manual it just goes to radio and doesn't switch over to USB/aux I'm trying to play my iPod via the car.

Can anyone shed some light on what I need to do I'm so annoyed with it.

Press the end button on the volume control stick behind the steering wheel until the right input is selected. The screen will display which is selected (for me there is only radio or input 1: aux). I find this is an easier way than trying to fiddle with the dash buttons.

Do you have both a USB and an AUX device plugged in at the same time? If so that's your problem, the socket is designed only to accept one connection at a time.

Hi mate thanks for your advice ive tried this it doesnt appear to work all that happens when pressing "SRC" behind the wheel or "source" on the main radio is the radio is interupted for a second pause then returns to radio.

It doesnt appear to ackowledge i have an input to the usb port or even the aux when i use a lead for that.

On my radio screen it wont show the only think i have is an flashing RDS button

        Any suggestions ?

Does the USB socket provide power for example when you plug in a mobile?

It does sound like the socket is at fault and possibly requires a replacement.

Have you tried a different USB?

Putting the USB in whilst the car is running rather than having it plugged in on startup?

                Hmm.

Strange that it powers the device yet your stereo does not pick it up, what kind of device are you trying to plug into it? If it's a USB stick, is it formatted in a way that the stereo has the ability to read? Have you tried using a different device and or cable to see if your stereo picks it up then? If it's an MP3 player or an iPod, again is the MP3 file system one that the car can read and is the iPod a newer or older model? Have you tried using both the USB port and the 3.5mm jack in order to get some kind of music through the stereo?

There are two plugs that go into the back of the AUX device, have you tried popping it out and checking they are both plugged in?

                Regards,
                Berch
