Today's day in Philadelphia Phillies history begins in 1980 in Game 5 of the World Series. With the series tied 2-2 after four games, the Phillies needed Alec Pierce Jersey to come away with a victory while playing in Kansas City.Philadelphia did just that, as in the ninth inning, third baseman Mike Schmidt led off with an infield single while down by Indianapolis Colts Jackets one run.
