  • What does everyone use to clean alloys?

Hi guys, just wondered what everyone uses to clean their wheels? I usually use RDS then Autoglym clean wheels, and the results are ok, just wondered if there's anything better out there.

Also, does sealing the wheels make a big difference to how easy they are to clean?

Depends on whether u wanna use an acid based cleaner
Never used to use them, me
Then understood that if you only use for max 1 minute- they dont half clean well!

Dry off pronto. after rinsing too

Power Maxed Non Acidic Wheel Cleaner, Auto Finesse Imperial, Autosmart Wheel Cleaner Concentrate all with a foaming sprayhead are all brilliant cleaners. See the PowerMaxed one in action here along with others.

I have ceramic sealer on my alloys so never need to use any products to clean them ( Carbon Collective Platinum)
On other cars I tend to use an Iron X type product and AG tar remover

Andy won't like this, but I just use washing up liquid with my wheel woolies. Then I go over them with a microfibre wash mitt with Meguirs Gold class, and then finally give them a going over with Iron X and tar remover. They get thoroughly rinsed between each stage, and then I finish them off with Poorboy's wheel sealant.

I've always used Demon RDS then pressure washed off and the a bit of Wonder Wheels and then rinsed with a noodle mitt and dried with my AG drying towel. However, I have some Maxed Power bits on the way plus new wheels have been waxed before going on tomorrow. Should be a lot easier!
