  • Bumblebee 4hr decontamination and protection detail

This is the second time I have looked after this gorgeous yellow DS3 now and what a pleasure it was. Cheers Daron.

Last time was a full machine polish and protect whilst this occasion was a full decontamination and protection detail

Without further ado, onto the pictures:

    As it arrived:

Wheels cleaned with Autosmart Wheel Cleaner Concentrate and Wheel Woolies

BiltHamber SurfexHD applied to the tyres and agitated with a stiff brush

Strong mix of SurfexHD applied to bodywork and rinsed off with the Nilfisk.
G3 Pro detox mitt used with G3 detox shampoo then rinsed off before BiltHamber Korrosol applied to bodywork then left to work its magic:

Rinsed off, dried with the Mammoth and brought out of the sun to start applying the protection. Couple of stone chips to deal with first then applied the Sonax Hybrid NPT and then a final coating of Sonax BSD. Tyres dressed with FinnishKare Tyre Dressing, trim dressed with both PERL and GTechniq C4 permanent trim dressing. Alloys sealed with CarPlan Nanomeric wheel seal and protect and all glass cleaned with Carpro Eraser. Exhaust tips cleaned with Autosol.

End results after just 4 hours:

...still not cleaning the dustcaps mate...

Looks fantastic.... On reading through, I realised that I'd really love a checklist of the stages you go through on a job like this. I know you are outlining it in detail, but I'm talking steps names - rather than product names... So a muppet like me can substitute products that I have... So would this be right :

Wheels + Tyres (dedicated wheel cleaner/tyre cleaner)
        Bodywork pre-wash
        Rinse
        Clay
Korrosol (for want of a better step name!)
        Rinse
        2BM Shampoo
        Rinse
        Dry
        Bodywork Wax
        Black Trim
        Wheel Seal
        Chrome
        Glass
There are only three kinds of people in this world... Those who can count, and those who can't...

That's awesome mate - thanks a lot... Need to see where my product gaps are !! Is polish a different step to wax? Do you use 2 different products for that I mean?

How on earth did you manage to get all of that into 4 hours...?! That's pretty much what I did and it took me 7! Looks fantastic though mate, he must have been chuffed with the result .

                  Yes pal

Polish creates the shine (and some fill in swirls and scratches) and a wax/sealant protects the polish and thus the paintwork from the outside elements.

You would not polish without applying an LSP (last stage protection) on top.

                  Hope this now makes sense

There were a few paintchips to clear up too. It's quite easy once you have a strict routine mate.

Daron was extremely happy at the end driving away.

Certainly doesn't hurt to get it properly protected Dave. I am looking at bookings about a month in advance at the moment so get in quick and send me a PM if you're seriously interested pal.
