Realistically how often do you clean your car in some form?!

I cleaned mine yesterday (bearing in mind I only got it on Saturday!) and after doing my 120+ mile round trip to work, parking there, where I only can under trees, using the screen wash to get off fly splats etc, it's filthy again now!

I'm a full time working mum with a child and a husband and I just can't spare the time to clean it everyday!

There's a film of pollen on the roof for a start. How can I get rid of that?!

Also does anyone use a handheld cordless vacuum to clean inside? If so what would you recommend?

It really varies from person to person, I usually clean mine every 1-2 weeks on the weekend, depending on the weather. Andy on the other hand, probably does his once or twice a day (he even had a garage built so he can clean it if it's raining). I'm sure he'll advise shortly on what to do to keep it shiny

i do ours every week rain or shine. it makes for a relaxing sunday morning-afternoon lol

I do mine once a week usually. I'm going to aim to do a full polish and wax every couple of months.

If you can't do a full works clean that regularly (I can't either) but can spare 30mins for a quick detail spray that might be an answer....

I do this when mines only got light dust or rain marks on it and it comes up lovely without the hours of cleaning etc On Andy's recommendation I am currently using this with two long pile microfibre cloths (one for applying the spray and the other for buffing)....

Well all last week I didn't touch my car once due to having that Ninja in to correct and detail. Saturday night, finished a job at 9pm, got home and car was manky. Quick 10 second spray on to each alloy with PowerMaxed Alloy Wheel Cleaner with a foaming sprayhead and left to dwell. As that was working its magic had to use Demon RDS instead of the awesome PowerMaxed TFR in a pressure sprayer.



Sprayed onto bodywork and left to dwell for about 3-5 minutes. Then alloys and bodywork were pressure rinsed and car was then gleaming. Dried with lightly moistened Mammoth drying towel then QDed with G3 Bodyshop Detailer Spray using 2 mfs. 30 minutes later, car is back upto its usual standards.

You will find most enthusiasts wash their vehicles once every one to two weeks. However this can vary dependant on their vehicle and time available.

In regards to the fine layer of pollen on your car: This can be removed with a quick detailer such as Finale and deep pile microfiber cloth. However do be careful with the level of dirt on your paints surface as this could inflict fine swirls, even with a quick detailer such as Finale and deep pile microfiber cloth.

If you're parking under trees on a regular basis then your car with need to be protected with some form of wax or sealant ASAP to avoid any sap or bird droppings etching onto the paint. It's a lot easier to protect beforehand than having to correct by a machine polish afterwards.

A citrus pre-wash or TFR from PowerMaxed



will shift the pollen on the roof no problem. Spray, leave, pressure rinse off. (Not in sunlight or on a hot day as product will dry out before it works its magic).

Finally, sorry I don't use a handheld vacuum as I have a wet/dry machine

Personally I would take it off and start again with some proper stuff. If the jet wash you have doesn't work, buy some TFR or RDS with a garden pressure sprayer and take to a petrol station jet wash where you can purchase minutes instead of specific wash cycles. Spray onto car with sprayer, leave to work then select a rinse cycle using the jet wash to rinse off. Don't use a petrol stations jet wash brush though under any circumstances.

Blimey Andy, even your garage floor is spotless!

I try to clean my car every 2 weeks, depending on the weather. It would include a citrus pre-wash, 2 bucket wash & rinse, towel dry, and detailing spray to finish.

I wish haha. Going to give the carpet tiles a good going over with Autosmart Brisk and my Nilfisk Wet and Dry over the weekend. In a bit of a state atm from having the Ninja in there
