I think the wax gives a better shine but doesn't last as long, sealant last longer more durable, but shine not as deep..I think!!

Polish for the shine, wax to protect the shine.
A sealant is predominantly applied to clean, bare paint ie, no polish required then the sealant is applied. This provides shine and protection combined. I tend to use sealants in the spring/summer and a polish and wax combo in autumn/winter. The wax provides extra protection against the winter salt and grit.Andy DS3 Club's Resident OCD Detailer!

Whilst we're on the subject of winter waxes Andy, what do you recommend? I know it's still a while away yet but I like to be prepared!

The 476 imported directly from New York is renowned for it's legendary durability. For the winter months it is almost the perfect car wax because not only does it leave a mirror wet finish but it also protects like no other carnauba based wax. After two layers this wax has been know to last well in excess of 6 months beading water which simply rolls off the car.Andy DS3 Club's Resident OCD Detailer!
