  • HELP! I dont know how to clean a car...

    Hi All,

Im a newbie I collected my beautie of a ds3 last week (whisper purple and black) and its dirty.

I want to know the basic regime of cleaning it without spending a fortune!

I have some basic cleaning equipment (car shampoo, sponge, microfibre, leather and back to black tyre foam)

I used all this in my old car but dont think I want to use a sponge or leather on my new paint.

Thanks (Will uploads pics when I can)

Hi there Nikita. Welcome to the club. A kind member on here posted a pretty useful guide for safely cleaning their car. See here from post 4 onwards

Post 74 is particularly good for which stuff to use

First thing is ditch the sponge and leather. They are one of the biggest causes of scratches and swirls. A lambs wool wash mitt amd a microfiber drying towel are the two key items needed. There's lots of useful info in the thread linked to by Mr Racoon (who's far too modest to admit that he's the mentioned kind member!).

              Hi Nikita,

It may be worth checking out the link I've pasted below for you. This is a link to our guide on how to safely wash your car. Also you will notice we have a kit to accompany this guide which will help you follow the guide and perform a safe wash week after week!

              I hope that helps,
