  • Snow foam lance

    Thinking of getting myself one.

Any suggestions for my karcher k2 pressure washer? Don't want to spend too much mind.

    Cheers

I have the Autobrite one and it works pretty well. I got it on a Detailing World deal a few years ago. I think it was about £40 but I can't remember exactly.

Have a look here Phil if you want a lance without having to spend too much. The Karcher K Series connector is the one you want.

Hold your horses one the direct hoses lance, I've got one and I'm not very impressed with it. It doesn't produce a very thick foam at all, and it doesn't dwell for very long.

What foam and dilution ratios did you use Mark. I met up with someone last week after the Driffield meet and his DirectHoses one worked just shaving foam fine👍
I have found they aren't very effective on well protected paintwork like I know you have.

I still though much prefer applying a pre wash through a pressure sprayer than using a snow foam lance.

I've used both, the snow foam lance seems to do the job although it does make a lot of snow and on a mildly windy day I ended up rinsing of the neighbours cars in the flat we were renting

The pre-wash in the pressure sprayer was a lot easier to use, far less mess and IMHO achieved better results too.

Here, here. A decent pressure sprayer and 5L of a good pre wash like Powermaxed TFR would cost less than the price of just the snow foam lance on its own.

That's what I currently do (minus the 5litres), perhaps I'll stick to that then.

I found it got most of my crap of the roof quite well yesterday. Just needed a light wipe down with the wash mitt to really bring up the white roof.

This is three hours worth yesterday.

Power Maxed foam, at the recommended dilution. It came out alright but it was gone in a minute.

So is that the foam, lance, hardness/softness of water used or as I alluded to before because your car is so well protected LSP wise?

A few factors that indicate it may or may not be the lance that has you holding the horses lol[emoji6]
