    Before TFR

    50/50 TFR

    After

Roof treated with 1 application of Frost Aura wax over a month ago and still performs and beads like this after 6 x 1:10 applications of TFR

    Morning Andy,

I've got a bottle of the pre-mixed TFR that I used for the first time on Sunday and I used about a third of the bottle, left for about 5 mins and pressure rinsed off with a Nilfisk and i still had quite a few areas or dirt (no different to the ones shown in your photo) that refused to budge. Is it simply down to yours being cleaner under all the dirt (sounds stupid but you know what I mean!) so the stuff slides off more easily or is there a stage I should be adding?

Could be a number of reasons, the first being the myth that mine is easier to clean as it is so well protected which is very true BUT I challenged this on a car with zero protection on it:

Seen here is my father in laws much UNloved Aygo with zero protection on it beforehand whatsoever.
Car was not washed, just a 1:10 TFR application, left to dwell then pressure rinsed off. Wheels cleaned with dedicated wheel cleaner and topped off with a QD.

Before and after in less than 45 mins

The second could be because I am using a concentrate at 1:10 whereas I don't know what the ratio is in the 1L ready to use bottle. I'm guessing higher than 1:10 for coatings therefore may be less effective. Maybe Wayne confirm the ratio in the 1L bottle for us.

The main reason for a TFR is to remove the surface dirt prior to a normal 2BM to ensure a safer wash. I would rather start cleaning a car with a mitt and shampoo that had already had the majority of the surface dirt removed so don't feel too downhearted. You have made a start down an (expensive) path to ensuring your car looks as good as possible as safely as possible.

The RTU is diluted to 50:1 (or 1:50) so id say the best option would be to go for the concentrate and make your own formula

50:1 is very good on bugs and light soiling, but will not give the performance of the more concentrated formula

Forgive me if my calculations are incorrect

1L ready to use TFR =£7.99 at a dilution ratio of 1:50

5L concentrate TFR =£16.99 which is extremely effective and LSP safe at 1:9 ratio (100ml of TFR to make 1L of product).

Therefore the 5L concentrate per litre will make 50L of a product which is over 5 times stronger than the ready to use bottle and costs just 34p per litre instead of £7.99.

Anybody would be totally mad NOT to buy the 5L concentrate. Even cheaper if you were to buy say, ooh a 25L drum of the stuff. That then brings it down to 16p instead of £7.99

              #nobrainer

Looks like I'm going to have to ask nicely and see if someone can drop some more stuff off to me on their way home from work....

Quite correct. Certainly not expensive for me pal. In fact mostly everything this year from all the very generous manufacturers has been free. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Your car is a whore Andy, sorry to tell you, but it has so many different types of substances on it all the time. That can't be healthy :P

The reason why I wash my car in the hotel car park is just in case any guests see me and what I'm doing and go, "Hmmm, he should be working for me" or become a very generous benefactor

How to Use Xmas Pud Winter Carnauba Wax
                            • Ensure your vehicle is clean and dry
                            • Moisten a wax applicator with either some quick detailer or some water. This will provide a little lubrication for the applicator, you don't want it dripping wet, just damp.
                            • Prime the applicator by rubbing it around the top of the wax pot a few times, you only need a small amount
                            • Once you have a little wax loaded onto your applicator, apply to the paintwork using small circular actions (or straight lines if you are more comfortable doing it that way) to work the wax into the paint. Make sure you cover the whole area evenly and be very careful to apply a thin layer (only apply to 1 panel at a time)
                            • When the applicator starts to drag and it doesn't feel there is any wax left to spread, return the applicator to the pot and twist a couple of times to reload the applicator. Continue as above until the section is covered.
                            • When the panel is completely covered, move onto the next, you need to leave the wax some time to cure and bond to the paint. This usually takes 5 to 10 minutes, If the weather is particlurly hot or you are in direct sunlight, you may need to buff off sooner.
                            • Using a soft microfibre cloth remove the excess wax. If you have applied a nice thin layer and the wax is ready to be removed, it will come off easily in one or two wipes. If wax is not coming off easily then you may have applied too much product or not left it long enough.
                            • Once all the excess wax has been removed turn your cloth over and buff the paintwork to a high gloss finish.
                            • You can apply another layer to make the finish even more durable, we recommend leaving at least 1 hour between coats, to ensure the first coat has fully cured.
