You can still get great results without a hose, and you can rinse with one bucket of water if you go panel by panel drying each one as you go. Here is one of my "no hose" threads to show you how I do it.

Just worth noting, if you're rinsing with a bucket of water make sure it's clean! Lots of people just chuck the bucket they've been using and is full of dirty water back over the car when it's finished. In order to get a good shine from your vehicle you'll need to get it protected with a wax. The wax then stops the dirt from sticking to the paint, which reduces washing time and also means the shine can be topped up with a quick detailer once you've washed it.

I won't post much advice, as the link posted by RabidRacoon above contains a wealth of information. It was me who posted that thread when I first joined here for the same reasons as you, and now I've spent hundreds and hundreds of pounds on cleaning products and spend a good few hours going over my car each week. Just a note of warning, it gets addictive if you get into it!

Welcome to the club as well .

Cheers for the help guys, am i right in saying after the wash rinse then drying. Do i then clay bar the car with detailer spray and rinse and dry again? And do i apply anything after applying the clay?

                  The steps I use are:

                  Snowfoam/TFR
                  2BM
                  Rinse
                  Decontaminate (tar and fallout removal)
                  Rinse
Clay (towel or mitt is much better than a bar with a detox shampoo as a lube not a detailing spray)
Rinse (if a towel or a mitt was used with shampoo, if a clay bar was used then another 2BM and a rinse is required)
Pat dry with a drying towel

Now you're ready to either machine correct, apply polish, glaze, wax or sealant.
