Aluminium Pedals

Any advice on cleaning the pedals. Just got my Dsport plus and they have not been looked after by the previous owner and need a good clean.

Are they dirty or scratched ? The finish appears to be quite soft and normal driving with trainers etc and the occasional stone appears to mark them quite a lot.
