  • Not sure what to do with my ds3

Mines in belle blue and black roof, I keep it clean but seems I've fallen foul of the citroen dealer, the more I clean it the more marks scratches etc I keep finding. A bit gutted seems I've paid for the low mileage engine and newly new car as it's not even 2 years old. The more I see the more I'm thinking leave it, it's going to to get worse parked on supermarket car parks and Welsh mountain bike car parks!

But then part of me thinks how nice it would be to bring it back to new, it's not bad but I keep finding scratches etc, I d got about £400 was thinking of getting the car detailed? Would that fix most problem areas or just cover up until it washes away again?

Get the feeling the cars had a hard life in its first 18 months, next time I have to go with my head and not heart!!

Living in a flat I find cleaning it difficult i keep cheating at the jet wash, spraying my own foams and cleaning stuff then using the water jet to clean it off.

We have a couple of detailers on the forum who offer discounts to club members. No doubt one of them will be along soon

A bit cheeky but I'm Birmingham based, if anyone has a free Sunday morning?? And a driveway hose pipe, I can get the cleaning polishing stuff! If anyone has a free morning, can bring Tesco cake

Have you got any pictures of the scratches?

If they're only on the surface any good detailer should be able to bring it back to shiny with a good machine polish. If they're deeper (down to the metal / plastic) you might have to get the panel resprayed, but then you run the risk of colour matching.

All surface scratches looked like previous owner parked the one side in the bushes! Did try to photo but the didn't come up very well. The black above the drivers door has some marks, would guess it's more leaning on the car with keys in his or her hands.

None of the marks look deep, well not to me, will try a few pictures once I get home from the garage, tow bar fitting!!

              Possibly a cleaning brush scratch!

                I feel your pain

We live in a flat and and I don't have access to a hose to clean my car. I have been known to travel from Manchester to Hertfordshire to my parents to clean my car.

Matt Holderness has a red edition and he fell out of love with his, after a trip to see Andy (Clean your Ride on here) in Preston, all changed!

                All in this thread: http://www.ds3club.co.uk/showthread....d-Black-Detail

A machine polish be a professional and some TLC will bring your DS3 up a treat!

You'll never keep a car perfect, I noticed a few new marks on mine on Sunday but its not the end of the world I suppose. Machine polish and it'll be like new

I'm not a professional detailer, I just do it as a hobby, but I live in Warwick and can have a look at it if you want. I do have a machine polisher, but I don't have loads of experience when it comes to removing major defects. Glazes and light polishes will work to remove or conceal the worst of them, but if it's that bad then you might need to look at wet sanding and using a heavy cut compound and work your way up. A full paint correction will take more than a morning, but a wash/glaze and wax will only take a few hours.

I never use the garage car washers, the big roller things left some scratches on my old car even the soap brushes in the manual ones leave the same.
I started going to the drive in hand car wash which is run by a group of polish people they are very efficient and it's only £5.

I think Andy (referred to by WTF above) is Manchester way - that's quite close

Depends on your definition but I'm not sure I'd call 100 miles 'quite close'

If you're happy with that then that's fine . However, they will be leaving more damage behind such as swirls and other paint work damage.
