  • Cleaning Plastic Guttering and UPVC

Ovs not car related but with a few detailers on here i thought id ask, white guttering and door/window UPVC, are there any car products that are also good on plastic, im looking to clean the white up but down want to bleach it so it goes yellow.

    Cheers

Quick detailer is fine on plastics.

Or maybe Meguiars Wash Anywhere? http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car...h-wax-anywhere

I reckon a normal household window cleaner would do the job though.

I seem to recall my Dad using Cellulose thinner (I think it was that) on the original white frames we had when I was growing up. I can't vouch for the long term effects of that though

A lot of home improvement stores sell cleaning products for the white frames

And I was reluctant to say I have used an aerosol cleaning product for oiled / waxed wood to get rid of the wax prior to reapplying oil that the people who built my stairs gave me, It sure smells like white spirits but do not really know what's in it. Worked like magic on the white plastic window frames.

Yeah I'd share your concern SfG, honestly I can't say, it used to clean them up a treat but I haven't seen that house in 25 years I'm interested though in what you find and settle on...

There is a specialised PVC cleaner about £10 a bottle at DIY shops- works well but only keep the bottle a year as it goes off (As I found)
