Using tape on paintwork

Hi
I'm going to machine polish my car and I need to tape off some decals. I have some Frogtape that I used for home decorating and I wonder if anyone can tell me whether this will be suitable. Or, if anyone can recommend something, I'd be much obliged.

Any generic masking tape should be fine. Or any vinyl style tape. I think I've even used electrical tape, just steer clear of sellotape, duct tape, and other super-sticky tapes.
