  • Best time to clay bar?

Washed my car yesterday and there are loads of little light brown marks all over it. They're not the usual tar spot type things and they don't feel raised but they're really obvious. Being white, there are loads of visible tar spots on the car so I was wondering if a clay bar would be a good idea to get rid of both types of mark but I've never used one before.

Is it worth using a clay bar now or should I wait a while for the weather to improve? Or are there any other products that will help prolong the clean finish after a claying? I use Auto Glym SRP and EGP when I can which give great results but take AGES to apply.

Any help is much appreciated cos my car looks like a cow has just opened up on it...

Use you SRP on a cloth and concentrate on the spots that's what I did with my white one and then waxed it with carnuba wax

I Get The Brown Spots Too Mate, I Think Someone Identified It As Some Sort Of Rust On The White DS3's

I use claybar when ever it looks like it's needed... Just read the instructions and you'll do fine (not my fault if you don't).

That took me a couple of moments to work out that SRP was Super Resin Polish and that EGP was Extra Goss Protection!

make sure the car is immaculate before you clay bar the car in my opinion.

basically snow foam rinse then 2 bucket method wash the car rinse and i normally snow foam it again afterwords then rinse it .

ohand its always best to use a lube with the clay bar in my opinion . a quick detailer or somthing would be ideal then wash the car again after doing the claying of the car

Shouldn't you always use a lubricant when using a clay bar, I know that I do and it makes the job easier to do.

i was gonna ask the same question yesterday as i have the little brown RUST looking spots on my white dsport, was gonna go and see the dealer this weekend and tell them my car is going rusty already but Clivep may be able to shed some light on the subject? i wash mine with mcguaires wash and wax and also use showroom shine with carnuba wax in that but noticed the little spots the other day....
