  • How much do you pay someone for detailing your car?

Was just thinking i would like my car done inside and out but just dont have the time to do it myself. Does anyone know how much the average cost is to have my car done fully?
    Cheers paul

Average price for a showroom clean round here is £65. Dont know what is costs elsewhere but i know from friends the quality of the jobs vary.

How Long's A Piece of String ? lol

All Depends On What Type Of Place You Take It To, Around Here A Valeting Place Might Charge You Anywhere Up To £50 To Have It Done Yet An Actual Professional Detailers Can Charge Anywhere Upto £150+

i didnt mean the local car wash place that does valets - they charge about 50 quid. I meant a specialist detailer who is a professional with professional equipment and products. Was looking online but he was wanted £500 QUID - OUCH!

            +1 to Zack's post.
If you want a car done 'properly' be prepared to pay through the nose for it, but the results can be stunning.
I like to do it myself but if you are time limited it can be difficult to get the finish you want. Having said that you only have to do it really properly yourself once every 4-6 months then between that you're just doing a quick go over to spruce things up.

                As parafilm says
DIY, theres some excellent products out there for the novice... im relativley new to detailing and as i started i found Autoglym to be very good, moved onto meguairs and dodo juice.... now testing the waters with poorboys products....
if im going to do a proper job on my showcar i will set aside a whole weekend before the show to go over everything. wash, claybar, polish then wax outside... repeat the wax if necassary.... engine bay gets polished too..... inside only takes around 1.5hours to do ....
Go for it yourself.... its stress relieving and you get to know every lil bump on your car
if youre looking to pay someone else to do it, and properly then look to pay £70 < for a wash polish and wax... for a machine polish (DS3 too new to require this imo) upwards £90 ...
there are plenty of mobile valeters on yell.com for the lincoln area but id do my homework before using any of them tbh...

                  Paul,

Do you mean something like this?

                  http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=252851

                  or this?

                  http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=226370

I did both - although I don't do it full time I'm considered 'ok' at it and the Integrale was on display at the show following the Machine Correction I helped Autobrite with. The DS3 was of course my own.

I also help Autobrite with their 'back to basics' training (for keen enthusiasts, but doesn't include machine training, that's the more advanced course).

Feel free to drop me a pm.

(re above point, machine polish will benefit a new car as they are often badly prepped, but finishing a machine polish down properly takes time, but anyone using me has always done very well as I love doing it)....

Definite advice avoid any so called professional who mentions the word 'sponge' or 'leather' or who doesn't know the difference between a polish and a wax.

                  Best Regards,
                  Clive.
