  • Removing Wax from Black Plastic Trim

Anyone have any good products/methods of removing wax from the black trim around the bottom edge of the car?

You'll know what I mean by the white streaks on what should be lovely shiny black trim!

It's not a cleaner as such but I use Autoglym - Bumper Care on all exterior black plastic.

Open up your kitchen cupboard and grab the vegetable oil, works a treat.

Just a simple pencil eraser should work too, I've never tried it though!

Turtlewax cool as ice is the one i'm using... Liquid wax (or so they say)... leaves no residue and works as a cleaner too. :P

The wax i'm using is Autoglym High Definition in the small pots. It's absolutely brilliant, gets a great shine and lasts for ages.

This is the only problem I have with it! Some interesting suggestions here, they will all be attempted!

Bought some and used it when I cleaned her up at the weekend, it's fantastic! The black plastic trim now looks like new.

Awesome! I use it on any black mat bits, side of the door, the sides of the windscreen, underside trim, inside the door on the.... bit.... on the bottom... inside the door...that bit.

Certain Glass cleaners work, Can't remeber if it was Meguires or Auto Glym glass cleaner I used on my Zetec S...not worth going out and buying. But worth trying on a small area if you have glass cleaner?

I like this green gloop as it deters dirt, forms a barrier.

Thanks big I meant the bit with the silver bit on it that I stand on to clean to roof? that runs up the door inside, thick bit - *bleached the pink out of my hair, think it shows*
