    Hi guys....

Ive never had to look after black paintwork before so im looking for some top tips please....For the past few years ive had 2 white cars which seem pretty easy to keep looking good using claybar - Poorboys White Diamond - Good quality wax and Dodo Juice red mist.....

So can someone point me in the right direction as if it ever stops raining its going to need a clean...

    Thanx

I think the key I have found it to dry it thoroughly to prevent any water marks.

I use Megs Gold Class shampoo, dry and then use a wax. I like Zymol or one of the ones here:

Probably miss some vital stages in the eyes of car detailing, but gets results I am happy with.

That's a hell of a lot of cleaning products Joni think you might need a bigger step ladder soon

                  Hi Ken,

In essence your choice of products for black (and other dark colours) doesn't need to be any different as it is for other colours. The essential key difference is black and dark coulurs tend to be completely unforgiving when it comes to showing swirls or any other type of defect. I've seen black paintwork reduced to a swirl nightmare through just one bad wash (needing machine correcting).

So, above all, correct wash technique is my advice, as opposed to changing products.

That said, there are some nice colour charged waxes designed for dark colours, one I have in my collection is Autobrite Black Magic Carnauba Wax - a lovely wax and makes well prepped black paint simply pop. A decent sealant as an alternative will also work well.

                  Hope that helps,
                  Regards,
                  Clive.
