  • DS3 Cherry Red - White Roof - 2 Weeks Old.... Curbed!

    Hi Guys,

Got this delivered to me two weeks ago.. All fine, up until the snow came... Managed to curb it didn't I.

About a 4 inch scrape of the 17" black bellone alloy (and a decent indentation of about an inch).

    I was devastated either way!

So I took it to the garage, as the wheel alignment was all borked. Had to drive at twenty too to go straight, it was that bad.

I was hoping this was all that was wrong with it, and I'd be on my way.....

They informed me the suspension arm was bent. So got a quote of £200 + then tracking on top, so you'd be looking at about £230-240? I assumed this was fine... (I'm a novice).

Got a second quote, and managed to get it to £143 for everything! Quite a saving. Just dropped it off down the garage earlier on.

Quite devastating really... Who'd have thought going slowly... and barely damaging the alloy would cause the suspension arm to bend.. they said "You've done a good job of that haven't you".

Ah well, hopefully I have no more woes!

I'm getting the bellone refurbished (although not diamond cut refurbished) - Reckon it will be that noticeable if done properly with it being a pretty small area?

    Cheers!

Even when your going slow your still fighting inertia and that's still about 1200kg of car thats smacking into a curb. Glad you found a lower quote quite a difference between them.

              Thanks.

Those alloygators are a good idea.

Just my luck I had my 306 for 15 month's without a hitch, and I slide in the snow within two weeks. It's just down the garage now!

Yeah, I've only seen a cherry red with a white roof up here once. Tend to be Black or White / White or Black from my experience! I initially wanted the belle le blue, or the shark grey with the carmen red roof .

my biggest fear when i get my ds3 is curbing the alloys, where i live it can sometimes be a tight squeeze to get out and i get very close to the curb.
i once gota pool car from work to use for a week, it was brand new with only delivery miles on it, i curbed it withing 24 hrs.
