  • tyre dressing

Hiya. . Im looking to buy a cleaning kit before i get my thp. The main thing i want is tyre shine that keeps the shine, thats either applicated with a brush or spounge. I have previously used tinned spray but harmful to the enviroment and takes a few layers. tyre shine is one thing i have ocd about, a car is not complete without the rubber gleaming. can anybody reccomend any? also would be looking for a good wax that will not show up on the black (always seem to notice people who have waxed black cars) and will give it that waterproof coating (wether in scotlands a nightmare) any help would be apprecaited. cheers

I use Autobrite Vinyl Trim & Tyre Bubblegum Protectant.

Works well on tyres and on the black trim and it smells great!

If you want to shine your tyres in an Eco fashion may I suggest using Vegetable Oil?

          Works a treat

Thanks forest. Where do you get this from? They all look good. Suppose it's trial and error. One might suit one persons need. Really think tyre shine finishes a car. Especially a black

I get most of my stuff from chemical guys uk or clean your car, take a trip to Detailing World its a great site for car detailing.

Clive P is also somebody else you should talk to on here

Where you from, if your near to me (forest of dean/Gloucestershire) I am happy for you to try some of my Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel before you buy, what I like about it is the gel spreads really well and it drys quickly so the dust wont stick to the tyre wall

Hi there, I got put onto the Meguiars Tyre Gel, been really impressed with it, it lasts well, goes on easy, even tho it seems to be expensive at about £9 it lasts much longer than the spray stuff I used to use as well.

                              Hi Walk,

I like to see new OCD detailers on here...Beefmasta has already recommended my favourite tyre gel, AB Bubblegum trim!
Let me tell you something, it has as much to do with prepping the tyre correctly as it does which product you use, the tyre needs cleaning properly first.....ok enough, before I start!, lol..

Wax for Black Cars...where do I start? I could write volumes...

From here, for the others, please excuse a copy and paste from previous answers, but for Walk's amusement...

I do detailing purely as a hobby but now find myself fully booked on details (if I want them), I love 'proper' detailing, no sponges, no leathers, removing swirl marks from cars (showroom cars are way below standard to me, but of course are fine for 99.9% of the population).... I also train in detailing... it is not what I do for a living.... as above there's no 'should' it's whatever you want to enjoy (I don't get drinking but accept 99% of the population find it enjoyable!)....
I've done a couple of guys cars on here, including BeefMasta's I'll let him tell you if he thought it was worth it....

But for your potential enjoyment, please enjoy:

This one I did with one of my best mates for a show:

Whilst I don’t have any real ‘close up’ macro shots of my own work (I’m too interested concentrating rather than photography!), you’ll find examples in Detailing World in the ‘Studio’ section (where the pros display their work) of 50/50 shots showing the swirl marks that are removed and whilst you don’t see them in daylight, they quite simply rob your paintwork of depth of reflection (I’m a pain in the rear to a car salesman as I can spot the swirls a mile off, and they look at me in wonder, lol).

I also help with some ‘basics’ training, just so you have some background info…there’s lots of people who don’t get how easy it is to put swirls in cars and how to (largely) prevent them in the first place:

                              Agenda here:
                              http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=277256

Pictures here: (same thread after the course):
                              http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...=277256&page=3

We’ve run this course quite a few times with anything from 5 to 12 attendees, always with positive feedback – not suggesting you need this, just wanted you to understand my interest!

I've got a full course on this coming Saturday, can't wait!

                              Regards,
                              Clive.
