Electric buffers

We have about Thirty of these Halford Double handle buffers sitting around in work that get used once a year on a job. I'm tempted to bring one home to polish the car with but am a little scared of using one on my paintwork as I've never handled one before. Any tips on how to use one would be much appreciated.

I have one of those, they really make your hand vibrate. The other problem I found is they can get warm and leave harden polish on the car if you dont keep it moving quck enough.
