  • Whens time to clay bar?

Washed the car today and noticed its looking a bit tired. Last polish was just under a year ago and i have never clay bared.

Was always told claying you should wait a few years for.

Not only that i noticed a ton more chips and even some dings (not happy with them).

Where are people getting there chip sticks from?

        Hi Ben,

The answer is it's best to clay as soon as the car is delivered. I've done new car detail preparations and there's been loads of bonded contaminents that clay has removed - cars pick it up from the factory to the showroom, especially if delivered on trains or sometimes parked at the docs for ages....

Claying itself won't sort out the 'tiredness' but it is part of the de-contamination process before polishing.

If I do an enhancement detail, I always clay before machine polishing.

        Hope that helps,
        Regards,
        Clive.

That Chipex stuff looks great. Do you think it would work on these particularly nasty ones I have here
