When I eventually get enough saved for the pressure washer I'm deffo getting snow foam and maybe some purple rain for the wheels... recommendations for best places to buy are welcomed !
I am far from a detailing wizard but you can get everything you need from this place http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/ and they are really helpful too - any info you need to know about what to use when and where they can with the info !
I shall be training 10 people on Saturday at Autobrite on Saturday to feed my addiction I cannot wait! (Mark is one of my best mates).
OK - the bottle supplied with any pressure washer is useless - you need a dedicated snow foam lance, Mark does them (worldwide reputation for them) - they can handle high pressure and pre-wash a car very well - the snow foam lance can take the 1600psi plus pressure you need to create decent foam and Magifoam is my favourite, long dwell times and significantly removes grime before washing...
Never, ever, use a brush (or a sponge or a leather) on your car (IMO - your car do whatever you want of course!).....
ps - they do not replace washing, snow foaming (or if not too much muck a good pre-rinse with a good pw) is all part of the pre-wash process and is essential to minimise swirls on paintwork
With a deep breath (way too much choice for a newb like me) I have been looking at the Autobrite website, I think initially I want some snow foam, a lance and purple rain for my wheels....
There seems to be a few different snow foams but I thought these would do, happy to take advice before I place an order though, for info I have an all black DS3. I'm also getting a Karcher K4 Premium Eco washer (I couldn't afford the ones on Autobrite lol )
AutoBrite do a Special Offer on a certain website (Clive will know) its a detailing site and they do 4 or 5 options starting from around £45 ... for option 1 you get a snow foam lance - with fitting of your choice/Karcher and a bottle of MagiFoam and maybe something else too - option 2 you get a extra bottle of something for about £52 - there about, if clive comes back on he should be able to let you know whats available, all you will have to do then is ring AutoBrite and ask for example option 3 with the karcher fittment or it can be ordered on line and paid for via paypal or card
I ordered over the phone, said I saw the deal on Detailing World and they told me the offers. If you're not sure what adaptor you need, just tell them which pressure washer you have and they'll make sure you get the right one.
Edit: Beat me to it Angel-Eyes.

Oooohhhh !! That would be good, currently I am looking at just under £100 in my basket including p+p, hopefully one of the offers you mention will get me what I wanted a bit cheaper...
As suggested by others above - go for one of the group deals - snow lance, and I'd recommend Magifoam over super snow foam - Magifoam dwells well on the car and I think the better product.
Wheel cleaner - recommend AB Very Cherry Non-Acid Wheel Cleaner at 10-1 through a foaming trigger spray head (Mark also stocks these).

Chris - correct, that's the one - the bigger cylinder means it delivers more solution per trigger pull and causes it to foam - and works effectively even at 10-1 (some go to 20-1 quite happily) - you can also aggitate the wheel with a brush whilst this is on.....plenty of choice of those...
