  • Giving the mistress a seeing to

Decided this afternoon to give the DS (mistress) a little tickle.

2BM with grit guards with 1oz CG Glossworkz shampoo

    Merino wool washmitt

Plain rinse water looking rather dirty

Who says grit guards are a waste of time and not essential???

Look at the crap that hasn't been transferred back on the car causing swirlage

These were treated (front face and back of alloy) to a decontamination of Iron X, an AF Imperial brushing using a Daytona Speedmaster alloy brush, rinsed and then a good coating with PPWSAS.

End result after a wash, a dry with wooly mammoth then a quick spray with Zaino Z6

Looking great Andy - takes a while for people to appreciate just how quick proper detailing is, once you've done all the hard prep work....

When I'm training people I always tell a story of the benefits of a grit guard mainly centered around what you pay for a car and what a grit guard costs!

                Regards,

                    It warrants commenting on!

Hmmn looks like I'll have to invest on a smaller bucket and a grit guard, I wonder if Halfords sell them?

I don't think they do Daron. Amazon do though:

Seriously - since my "do" it has been so much easier to maintain a good looking car.

JB - so what cleaning regimen have you now adopted? That is how often, for how long and which products?

Trying to plan in advance a cleaning regimen that will satisfy both Andy as to keeping the car good, minimising the time taken and keeping expenses low to keep the wife happy. Been discussing it with Andy via PM but would welcome another viewpoint. Especially one from another new convert to the world of cleaner cars

                              Hi Daron

This is my regime (experts feel free to criticise or advise):

Pressure hose car and wheel arches
                              Foam car with lance
                              Drink coffee
                              Rinse off foam with lance
                              Two bucket wash
                              Dry with microfibre towels
Spray on wax and polish with microfibre towels
Can do all that easily within one hour. Still experimenting with different products and firmly believe that with a lot of them you can't tell one from another!

I realise this does not include the wheels which is a whole new saga I am experimenting with
Just tried one side with Very Cherry and the other with special offer Simoniz from Tesco's @ £2.50 and can't tell the difference.

                              Cheers

                              JB
