Thought rather than show you more of my recent details, which I've probably up to a few months ago, bored you to tears with, I'd show you something a little different, attempting to sort deep scratches. By the way I do not do this for a living, simply hobby, so no expectations of perfection here! Chasing perfection is one thing I love in detailing and my other hobbies, at this point, I was aiming for 'decent' on this!
A nice keying down the side of a friend's fiancee's VW Polo - from the very front edge of the wing over two panels to the door handle - there're some lovely people about, aren't there? Note I had already had a go at simply polishing this previously as sometimes you can get great results with simply dulling the edges on scratches, but this was too severe.

Before I started I measured all paint depths around the length of the scratch.
OK, after prep (won't bore you - let's just say scratch was throughly cleaned) some paint filling (flipping hard, you try getting paint in JUST the scratch, and paint that starts to dry fast too!!)
So after filling it as best I could, leaving it to dry, I flattened it out using wet and drive sandpaper (that scratches the paintwork, makes it very dull).

After sanding, before polishing (looks awful at this point, heart in mouth!, no not really, lol):

Found a few stone chips on the bonnet and a couple of deep scratches, one needed sanding, ah well in for a penny in for a pound:

After all this I got out my trusted Flex rotary and used Autobrite polishes, I won't detail the polishing, you're probably all bored of me now...
Results, I hasten to add you can still see it, but it's better, I'm reasonably pleased for a few quids worth of paint, hope my mate's fiancee is pleased too
Marks on Bonnet Gone!

Door After (note the reflection is the neightbour's car not a scratch
):

Wing After:

Bonnet After:

It's not Chips Away, it's Clive Away, lol....
I'd love to learn how to do this properly for the pure fun of it! I mean I don't sleep anyway so there's a few more hours left in my day...
Couple of super cars lined up for details, might try to post one of my normal ones soon
I'm delivering back to basics training on Saturday (on detailing which I can do, not scratch removal!)....can't wait, always love it...
Comments welcome, go easy scratches are not a hobby specialism!
Regards,
Clive.
