  • White DS3! Best bet in terms of detailing?

Hi guys, I'm new. Just picked up my new DS3 on Thursday - it's a white DSport+.

Having come from a black Aygo, I'm a bit unsure as to what products I'm best using to keep the white as glossy and protected as possible. Have been using Chemical Guys V7 and Dodo Juice Purple Haze wax, both of which made the black look amazing.

So where do I turn for white? I've heard Werkstatt stuff is good but anyone who owns a white DS3 can point me in the right direction I hope! And also what I should avoid on the wheels? Been using Bilberry wheel cleaner which has been fine on my Aygo.

Looking forward to your responses and getting more involved on here! Loving the DS3 so far.

    Cheers

    Welcome to the club

I have no colour specific recommendations for the white but the wheel cleaner you have already for your old Aygo will be fine for the DS alloys. The Dodo supernatural hybrid I have used in the past is an awesome wax/sealant for any colour car.

Werkstatt stuff is awesome. My mate had a white car and a silver car two. This is really good stuff for light coloured cars. Next month I'm getting the werkstatt acrylic kit for my polar white ds3

For white I recommend a sealant (synthetic wax) as the last step product rather than a natural wax - that said, as Andy has said any wax will work on any colour. What makes a wax looks great is the preparation (i.e. how good you polish the car) before you apply the final wax or sealant.

Werkstatt does have a great reputation. Autobrite Ultraslick or Abyss are great sealants.

Pick something, join the addiction and your collection will grow to far more waxes and sealants than you'll ever need!

              Regards,
              Clive.

Having not been heavily into polishing before (kept on top of my old car with the odd one-off polish and then lots of maintenance in between), how often and soon should I be polishing? The car is brand new and I haven't spotted any swirls at all. Based on your experience, Clive, how should my routine actually run? Thinking of doing my first detail of the DS3 in the next week or so.

                  Hi,

Take a look at my answers in this thread, it covers a similar question:
