  • RabidRacoon28 Wheel Woolies product test

Received the pack of 3 Wheel Woolies yesterday from Clean Your Car and couldn't wait to give them a test drive.

Here's the dirty front near side wheel that was going to be the test bed.

AF Imperial diluted 1:4 in a bottle with a foaming spray head

Bucket filled with soapy suds from Angelwax shampoo and Wheel Woolies left to soak

Imperial sprayed onto wheel and left to dwell

Note dirt being lifted off without any touching

Now time to take out the Woolie from the bucket and use on the back of the alloy

    Wheelnuts too

    Amazing dirt removal

Time for another spray with the Imperial and this time a clean on the front with this brush

    Then rinsed to leave this

Back looks as good as the front now

This is the dirt from just one wheel

Overall first impressions are very impressive. Easy, safe and effective. They look hardwearing and flexible. Ten minutes from start to finish producing a great result.

                  Andy

I went for EP801 from CYC, should arrive today. I'm getting a scrap panel to refresh the technique, as its been a while since Clive taught me. I'm really looking forward to getting in to it.

The scrap panel technique is how I started out as well I would also recommend a Paint Depth Gauge before going anywhere near your motor
they may cost a bit but its cheaper than having to fork out for a panel re-spray and running the risk of that then not matching up with the rest of the car
and worse if you do its to somebody else's car.

Seems like a decent "starter" rotary my mate. As Forest-sion says, don't touch a car with a rotary unless you have tested the thickness of the paint. You would not want to experience a burn through that's for sure.

Thanks for the advice guys, I will get one. The first time I tackle a car I will hopefully be with Clive who will I'm sure measure it first. I keep
looking out on DW to see if there are any in the members sale section, but they go quickly.

Ebay may be a good place to look mate.

Its also worth keeping a eye on the group buys section on detailingworld.com as the paint detective are often on offer and they are highly recommended as are the ones from CYC.com

Andy are you going to waxstock this year
