              I find a Brillo pad usually cleans it up pretty well, definitely gets rid of any carbon deposits though I use Meguiar's NXT All Metal Polysh to get a really good shine on the exhausts if needed.

                Wouldnt use a metal fibre to clean steel myself (Brillo etc) as it will leave swirls and blemishes
                Will certainly take everything off, but the scratched surface will attract even more dirt and deposits as time goes on

                Best to use a specific stainless steel polish (If the tips are stainless steel obvs) and just loads of elbow grease :-)
