cleaning chrome sidestrips on doors

I have a problem.

Because of all the bad weather in december I didn't have the ability to clean my car.
With all the roads coverd in salt for de-icing the roads it offcourse came on my car as well.

Now I want to clean my car and that was no problem because of the wax-oyl treatment.

Now comes the prolem.
The chrome sidestrips on the doors are really dirty.
I used all sorts of cleaners but I can't seem to make them shine anymore.
Does anybody have some tips to make them clean again?

The point is that all my previous new cars were at some point to dirty to touch.
So I decided to do it right this time. :cool:
