  • Best wheel cleaner?

What's everyone's opinion on the best alloy wheel cleaner? Been using Autoglym but it seems to take quite a bit of effort to get them clean

I have them sealed now so the faces only need a shampoo wash with a lambswool mitt to get them looking like the picture in the previous post. The brushes were causing micro scratches.

Andy - have you thought of a thread with all your recommendations for the various detailing jobs ? I'd find it really useful when ordering bits and bobs, you could have a section for Wheels and then list the top three cleaners, sealants, wash cloths etc and then do the same for Glass, bodywork, interior trim etc ?

Then when you find a better product you could update it (or ask Liam/Joni to if historic edits are banned) so the top three remains current

The best cleaners are the acid based ones i feel- but you have to be exact on dousing them in water thoroughly, all over, after 1 minute. Then dry off well.
Best way the do that is take the wheel off, and hose it, then microfibre
Prefer using acid based cleaners myself, than any form of Brush. They all scratch

Best tyre shiner is the Halfords one, and Ive just tried Meguiars gel stuff. Its OK. Easier to apply for sure, than spray

It is fantastic Joe. So much better than Bilberry especially when using a foaming spray head. My number 1 wheel cleaner.

Yes, funnily enough I was literally just thinking the same.

                      Would be really helpful.

You give useful information, but in searches naturally you find new products, so previous posts of yours are ''out of date'' etc. Sometimes you seem to recommend 2 products. Would help keep things easier in my opinion.

Obviously all of this is a compliment.

(My Surfex HD arrived today, as did my Meguiars lambs wool wash mitt. Pressure sprayer arrived yesterday... second bucket yet to arrive!!)

Quick update on the SurfexHD. Dilute to 1:20 as a pre-rinse to ensure no effect on LSP.
