Hey I currently have a ds3 hdi. Love the car to bits but just after getting the car I changed my job, so now only drive about 2 miles to work... so im thinking the diesel isnt the most economical choice for me. Seem to be going through alot more diesel just doing the small trips to work and into town etc. Does anybody have any idea of economic stats e.g. whether it would work out better for me to change to a petrol or would it be similar? And if so any ideas of best way to looking into swapping it? Thinking best just to go see my local citroen dealers! Any advice would be grand. Cheers.

Not the best conditions for a petrol either. All though you would not have to worry about the DPF clogging up. How about a bicycle

2 miles to work? Might work out cheaper to get a taxi every morning and back rather than running a car if that's the only purpose you have for it =/

261 working days a year (roughly) * £6.00 (rough cost for a taxi to take you 2miles return)

        £1566.

Works out cheaper than running a car.

Why not hold out for the release of the new DSign replacement (vti 82)and go with something that?

No car's going to be economical on such short runs. You'd probaly find that the increase in fuel consumption for such usage would be higher, percentage-wise, for a petrol engine than for a diesel & with a diesel you're starting from a much lower baseline. My 120VTi's trip computer is currently showing overall consumption of 24mpg since it was last filled up - only 8 miles, but no journey over a mile. You'd struggle to get as low as that with a diesel!
