Well a sad update for today -
When i bought the car it was unseen over the net and described as immaculate and as having no paintwork (all origional). When i had a quick look round upon collection it looked ok (well white never looks as shiney as darker colours), however when i got it home and gave it a detail the next day i noticed overspray on the n/s door seal, inside the door on the seals and noticed the bonnet had been repainted as it was flat

I phoned the dealer and spent 3 days arguing saying the car was mis described and the salesmanager said he didn't want anything to do with it! i even threatened legal action under the SOG act but he still wouldn't budge. I then told him i'd put the experience on the net to name and shame the dealership and he didn't cave in - UNTIL that night ( a couple of days ago) i put a post on another forum (relating to the francaise for the models they specialise in) and within an hour someone replied saying they were picking a car up from them the next day
Well this other person must have told the salesman what he saw when collecting his car the next day as i got a call from the general manager promising to either sort my car or give me a full refund and my old car back -RESULT!

Today i called at a specialist bodyshop who deal with show cars, etc as i know their work is perfect and explained the situation to them - i said the garage will be paying for the repainting of the n/s door, blending into rear wing and repain of bonnet. The bloke cam out and we went around the car, this is when after careful inspection we found a lot more had been done (badly) -
bonnet repainted, n/s door repainted, front bumper repainted (off colour), front wings possibly repainted (masking lines on tops of wings under bonnet), coolant exp tank had bolt missing and all coolant gone (was full 3 days/ 20 miles ago), overspray on windscreen pillars/ door seals/ headlights

Well my heart sank as i wasn't expecting it to have had so much done (car is 2.5 years old and only done 9k) and not knowing the full extent of the damage/ repairs (who knows what mechanical damage was done) and as the repairs are poor with bolts missing under bonnet and all this overspray i'm guessing it was repaired at a cheap back street bodyshop? the decision has now been made to return the car and get my p/x back and a full refund.
The general manager seems to be really helpful and has promised i wont be out of pocket at all (cherished transfer, tax, etc all refunded as well) and will be sending a driver to swap cars this coming week so i dont have to drive 100 miles back to them.

So from mid next week i wont have a DS3 anymore and looking on the net a similar spec car is at least £1k more than this (which had just been reduced £900 before i bought it) so i'm not sure what i'm going to do?hopefuly i'll find another asap or do i look for something else (like what?) or keep the 13 plate Corsa 1.4Sri which i'm getting back (anyone want to trade theis DS3 for a Corsa?) - who knows............................................. .............
