  • DS3 Serviced

    Morning,

Had my DS3 serviced yesterday for the first time. Before the service I had the spanner icon next to the mileage and a countdown of when it had to be serviced. All was completed and I left the garage - got to my office and saw that the spanner was still there and it was still doing the countdown.

Were they meant to reset this?

    Regs,
    Andy

Hold the button down on the right of the speedo and turn on the key, that will start the reset.

@Biggie, mine is coming up to 27,000 miles and the spanner is up, its also getting close to 4 years old. Does it need a service (I change the oil and filter every 5k and did the plugs, filter and discs/pads at 20k).

Coming up on 4 years so I would think it would be the second 2 year service coming do.

At four years old you should be having your 'official' service due, also think about having the brake fluid changed as well.

If you like I could email over a sheet specific to your car regarding services?

How much is a first service on a new car 14 plate? from a Citroen Main dealer by any chance?

^ How long is a piece of string

Different dealers in different areas are going to charge different labour rates, best bet is to try a couple in your local area and see how they compare.

I take it you don't have the service plan then?

No, I've got the car two years on a Lease and didn't feel like the service plan was worth the money they offered and wouldn't get full benefit, the offered me a service plan of three years and unto 35000 yet ill be doing 20000 a year so it didn't make sense, so I didn't go for it, I still have the option to get a service plan i just didn't think it worked for me, just wondered how much it would be to take it to a citroen mail dealer and pay pper service rather than a plan

i found out that as part of your lease agreement it must be serviced at the correct intervals otherwise penalties would apply on handing the car back. BUT.....you don't have to have the recommended service, just the basic one that changes your oil tops up fluids etc - this meant a £200 service for 25k and 37.5k miles only cost me £99. Bargain......

They recommended I had the pollen filter changed - at every service, thats ok but at the extra charges they apply its crazy - so long as you get a stamp in your service book you'll be covered.

They also wanted £380 for brakes and pads to be changed - OMG!!!!

Did it myself - really easy, cost £26 for some pads and copper grease, used my new socket set and my silicone plunger and saved ££££££'s. ( slight warning - be careful of the locking wheel nut - my osf sheered the head off the nut - previous tyre guy had applied too much torque when refitting wheel!!!!)

Discs turned out to have at least another set of pads wear left on them....

When I got my first ds3 (1.6hdi dstyle) 2012..my service intervals were 12500 miles.. I now have a 63 1.6hdi dstyle plus, the service intervals are now 10500 miles.. Is this right or does my software need reset to the 12500..I know other people with the same vehicle 2013 who are also 12500..

                            Hi bigfeet,

Are you able to send these specific service sheets to anyone? I'd be interested to what is needing done at each interval.

                            Thanks!

. I think 12500 is more than sufficient.....to be honest as much as. I love my ds3's i do push the service intervals slightly - - normally keep it within 1000 miles of the target....Citroen seem happy with this.
