  • car horn

Has or does anyone know if you can change the tone of the horn as the one on mine is a little high pitched and would maybe like to fit a slightly meatier tone?would probably mean changing components, but has anyone done it,cheers

Yup, pain in the arse if you're doing it properly.

I snipped the trigger wire on the OEM horn so I could make it sound by pressing the steering wheel.

Required me to remove the front bumper and to hook up a relay, compressor and the horns.

I imagine mounting it with a stand-alone switch should be easier.

The OEM horn is located below the drivers side headlight.

Here's a video of mine in use:

Have a look on ebay for a Low tone horn - nautelus do ones that sound like air horns but without the need for the trumpets and hoses

My first post years ago was about the horn. Left my original alone, ran a new feed wire from battery to switch on steering coloumn, switch wire back to compressore in engine bay, and fitted dual air horns.
        Luverly.
Takes about 2 hours all told
And the boys in blu come along- press the OEM Road runner horn :-)
        Or do as Fish says

All you need to do is get is a low tone horn and tap into the horn wires close to the original high tone horn. . Now you will have dual tone horns . that's all I've done and a year on had no issues. .

I had a hire car whilst waiting for my DS3. The new Ford Fiesta, and that had a brilliant horn. Very deep and low bass like sound.

Also, I was looking through the billions of car accessories on EBay and saw this...... Me and my mates would have some fun with that!
Not that I'd ever impersonate a police car! Honestly.

Had a quick look today but couldn't see the horn - do you have to remove the bumper or headlight to get to it?

Anyone know how to remove the headlight?
