Hello everyone, this is my first post, so be kind :-)

My DS3 THP went in for a service yesterday & the garage phoned me to say it needed additional work. The exhaust back box needed replacing. Needless to say, due to cost & remembering reading something on here I said to leave it.

I found the post about the welding & how it was done under warranty & some had had the back box replaced under warranty. I was after the Rapide info, that refered to this, so I can go back to the garage.

The car is nearly 2 years old & 14000 miles, so shouldn't need a new exhaust, should it?

Welcome to the club

WTF had her exhaust welded under warranty just before it ran out so if the issue is just rust it should be done under warranty IMO (especially on a car under 2 years old).

Not sure on the exact info rapide but Bigfeet or Dangerousfish should be able to help.

Hi Paul- welcome to the Club. Yes, exhaust stays are replaced under warranty as Beef says, and the corrosion is a commonish occurence
They should be aware of this too

I phoned the garage anyway and spoke to the Service manager, who looked at the report from yesterday & said it would be covered by warranty, I never even mentioned the Rapide info. They just remove the exhaust, weld it & replace. ��

Compare that to the quote, in the car, £550 + Vat & fitting I guess for a new exhaust!

That sick feeling I got on the phone yesterday has now gone!

Thank you Citroen Tamworth. In addition, I asked about the corroding wheels around the centre & they have sent photos to Citroen to get a refurbish approved!

As it happens Ive got a THP 155 complete exhaust system, 500 miles old, with catalytic converter, in my loft. LOL
(No- not trying to sell it if admin get agitated)
