  • Thp155 real world mpg

Awryt guys i have had my Thp 155 for 3 weeks now and so far the mpg am getting is worrying . I have averaged 31mpg ... first week i could understand this being this low cause i was bit excited and driving it bit harsher than would normally drive. Since then but i have been driving sensible but still not seeing any improvement in the mpg at all. i drive about a 1/3 motorway miles n 2/3 about town so i was expecting to be getin at least high 30s low 40s driving sensibly from a car claiming 48mpg average on the book.. a dont even seem to get neer that doing 60 with cruise on the motorway. Am i being unrealistic about this i have driven deisels for the last few years so gettin half the miles a was before bit of a shocker.

What are you guys getting from your thp155? Could it be the fuel am using ? Dont no what fuel the garage put in it but i used morrisons fuel to top it up couple weeks ago

I averaged 36.2 mpg over 23995 miles in my previous THP 155. In my current one I'm currently averaging 40mpg over 5000 miles. Both as calculated by Fuelly.

I use Shell V-Power Nitro+ and my mileage is probably 70/20/10 motorway/city/country roads.

Fuelly is more accurate but you have to fill the tank every time. Usually take 3-4 tankfuls to give you an accurate reading. I've heard the trip computer tends to lean a few mpg towards the optimistic.

Highest average I've had recently was 56.6mpg (trip computer) over 149 miles, mostly motorway and an average speed of 49mph due to traffic. When I got my first DS3 I was lucky to get 25-30mpg after an enthusiastic drive out, I've calmed down a bit since then.

Over 3 lots of the max the trip meter will go, (10,000kms 6300 miles or something) I have averaged 39.1, 41.0, and 40.1

That's all premium fuel though, but that better than my wifes new Fiesta which is about 38mpg but is all town driving

Mine is a mix 50:50 of motorway and town

So if you are happy with 40mpg, youre fine

Ed- Oh, and I bury that accelerator pedal quite frequently

I will give the premium a go next time i fill up the tank n see if it makes the difference. I would b more than happy to see 40, 31 was a bit of a shocker was thinking was maybe something up with the engine cause im getting alot of white smoke out the back whem am sitting at idle

Is your THP brand new ? I wouldn't normally expect white smoke from a petrol car on idle, I've assumed the car is warmed up and not pushing out condensation at start up ?

If it's not start up condensation I would take it to the dealer to check it out

lfc is right, that if the car is new, you shouldn't even look at the petrol gauge for the first 1000 miles, its goota burn in

Round town you will get as low as 35mpg, and on a nice motorway run no higher than 80ish, you should see 45, even 47-48mpg

Aftre a while you forget it and just driiiiiiiiiiive LOL

I have about 50/50 of highway and city driving every day and get around 6.6l/100km average (if google is correct then it's 47mpg)

No its not brand new its 2012 with 17,000 on the clock , starting to think there might be something up with engine, it had a full health check at the garage and the mot done on it n nothing came up on it so dont know what it could be, i will run it on premium for a bit n see id that makes a difference.

                            http://www.aa1car.com/library/problem_engine_smoke.htm

I found this via Google, never sure if these are helpful or not but it might help you identify the white smoke you can see ?
