Strange beep

Hi everyone, a friend of mine has a dstyle + diesel, over the past week he has noticed a high pitched beep lasting for maybe 2 seconds at a time every couple of minutes whilst driving? No warning lights on dash, nothing stored in the fault menu, it's not the outside low temp warning, no heavy objects on the passenger seat etc! Any ideas anyone???

Could be seat belt not done up or a door not closed properly.

He's checked all the obvious things like seatbelt etc! It's on every trip he's making??

Only ones I can think of are low fuel (fuel light should come on) or 'Risk of Ice' (outside temp is under 4°C and the temp will flash).

If it's still consistently doing it with no warning lights or messages, I'd get it taken in to the dealer for a check up.

Within the headunit settings there should be an option to view warning messages. Anything in there?

Nothing on dash, no warning messages... Absolutely nothing? I've heard the noise over the telephone and its like nothing I've ever heard my DS3 make?? Gonna be a dealer job I think!

You say no heavy objects on seat........ the times you hear the beep is there any thing on the seat ........

Does the DS3 beep if the door/boot isn't closed properly ?

Yes - if the doors are not closed properly you will get a beep (sometimes the indicator saying the door/s are open won't light up if the doors are almost closed but not fully). I had this thought all doors were closed (none looked opened) no lights on the dash saying door/s were open but had the beep. Turned out passenger door wasn't fully closed.

Yeah that sounds familiar Pete that's why I asked, couldn't remember if it was with the DS3 though

I thought my little car was haunted or something, passenger seatbelt alarm kept going off - no one there. Was only about a week later that I realised just how heavy my work bag was and that my car thought it was a person sat there!
