DS3 auto box-any good?

just introduced myself on the newbie section and thought I would ask the same question on here:is the Citroen auto'box any good ie reliable?
An auto is a must so all feedback would be appreciated.

I have never tried the auto box so can not give you an honest review. Hopefully one of the other guys will have more of an idea.

thanks guys,have read kmL's thread and another on this 'box , not very encouraging.Soumds like its an old box and not a particularly good one at that.
However,I have a test drive in a C3 auto (same box) and will try and keep an open mind until the drive.
I have decided to to test drive a Mini auto as well and I really hope the Citroen comes out best,I don't want a Mini but I do want a good auto box.
I will keep you posted.

The Ds3 auto box is the same unit fitted to the C3 and is a CVT auto box, the system uses a 4 speed on a J gate. The auto box is fine, it maybe old and not the best on the market but it's 100% bullet proof! In all my years with Citroen I have yet to see one fail which is good news for drivers. The system is auto adpative so the gear box will change depending on how you drive it, there are also sport and winter modes.

The Auto does use a bit more fuel and sits a higher tax bracket but it the price you pay for lazy driving!
