  • New DS3 owner - gotchas to watch for?

    hi there,

I recently collected new DS3 DSport.

Thought I'd ask about general gotchas I should be aware of, (such as importance of disabling auto rear wiper when using bike rack, for ex.).

I see the manual draws attention to the car's ground clearance, as something to be aware of. Has anyone had any problems in this regard, with kerbs or speed ramps?

Any tips along these lines would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers,
    SN

Congratulations on your new toy. Not had a problem with ground clearance as such but aware when pulling forward in some supermarket car parks in regards to any kerbs there maybe on lamppost islands and the clearance you have on the front bumper but that is with a lot of modern cars. Another good reason to turn the automatic rear wiper off when engaging reverse gear is during the winter as a stuck wiper blade on the rear screen could damage the wiper motor not to mention the blade itself.

Only one I can think of at the moment is to make sure that your DRL's are set to on, seen a few folks driving around with them off.

Also try the inverse feature on the radio display, I kind of like the other way around

Thanks guys, useful info. 'Car is like a new toy

Also thinking about getting a compatible phone mount to attach to the dash or windscreen, for a HTC One M7.

If anyone had any recommendations it would be cool.

          Welcome Sean!

I quite like the 'Guide me home' feature! Basically leaves the lights on for a set amount of time if your headlights are set to Auto!

I have one of those spider-looking ones, basically 8 legs that bend anyway you like! (apologies, I don't know their name)

But more importantly, what colour combo did you go for??

. . . & if they go off before you get out of the car, flashing the headlights will reactivate the guide function.

'Went for the shark-grey, navy roof colour combo.

I like that those colours are fairly subdued, and go well with the grey Aphrodite alloys, I think.

Thanks for tip about the spider-type holder...interesting.
