as above really my dsport+ ehdi will be 3 years old next Tuesday and ive got paperwork here about extending the warranty for another year for £200 and something i have just had to have the alternator replaced a few weeks before Christmas which tends to make me think it might be but that's the first problem in 3 years. anyone taken it out as i suspect i will be keeping it a while as i need a fair chunk of cash for the car i want next (i don't do cars on credit)

As with all warranties it is always worth shopping around and to have a close look at the small print. I found Warrantywise offered a good deal. Did a quote online then called them to see if they could do something better than the online quote which they did by quite a bit_____________________________________________

I took it out with Citroen themselves for £250/year. Only other place I tried was Warranty Direct who wanted £500.
So far, I've had the front anti-roll bar replaced which would've cost £279.26 according to the job sheet so I'm happy I bought it.May 2011 - October 2015: White body/black roof/white Bellone THP150

Yes.
Look at this way the warranty only costs you 55p a day.

If I changed a part to OEM, they'd have to replace a faulty sensor under the warranty etc. Unless it could be linked back to said OEM product.
I changed my head unit, and the guy at citroen said to change it back to the stock unit and they'd process it as normal - If it could be linked back to the unit (speakers would be wear and tear anyway I'd imagine). I wonder what exactly can be replaced under warranty.. I bet the list is smaller than that of wear and tear.Last edited by DarrylJ; 22-01-2015, 18:20.

Hmm. So if you put in a new larger intercooler, which should lower the intake to the Turbo, if the engine blew- you reckon they would change the engine, cos the intercooler only affects the Turbo. Not so sure.
Reckon they would say that the engine bay components have been changed, so warranty void. Suppose you could put all back to OEM and take it back, but if you took it back to same dealer, would they oblige. Not so sure
Reckon catastrophic engine failure costing thousands to remedy, any small change would be deemed as warranty break
just my thoughts obvs- wouldnt fancy testing
(And this applies to a standard warranty, let alone extended)
Ed- I like the train of thought thosigpicJog on Noddy

The thing is Chris have you ever come across a warranty plan that allows you to modify?...I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

Isn't the Citroen extended warranty just like the normal warranty but a bit longer? No mods goes without saying.

As far as modifications are concerned, it requires prior approval - if any mod not approved by them contributes to a fault they reserve the right to reject a claim.
