  • Hopefully a new DS3 owner

    Hello guys!

So am very close to buying a DS3 THP150 fully loaded, and I just have a few questions about it:

    1. Ive read a couple of posts here with guys experience problems with the car, is this car really bad quality?
As i see it, i dont care if the electronic stuff are failing. As long as the engine runs am happy.

    2. Now to a more serius question, as this is really importent to me. Traction control/ESP... Can it be turned fully off so u can do awesome handbrake turns without annyoing controls interrupting?

    3. Is it long waiting time on it?

    4. How does it track on snow?

    5. In Norway, it seems like theres some interior options missing, as i see people here have white and black leather seats. I can choose from Alcantara ofc, Claudia bright , Claudia dark and claudia red leather. So no White and black interior?

2nd and 4th question is really importent 4 me as I love to trash a car around snowy roads like am a rally car driver

    Welcome!

1.) Some guys have had a couple of problems with the 150 THP from loss of power to tappet noises but as far as I'm aware there had been no major issues.
2.) The ESP can be turned off but will come back on once you hit 28mph, there is no way to turn the system off completely without running into lots of problems.
3.) Factory to Dealer takes about 18-20 Weeks
4.) Our DSport HDI was fine in the snow we had, but again others have had some traction problems, bear in mind that the tyres fitted are not winter tyres but more of a summer tyre.
5.) When you say Claudia Bright I take it you mean a beige leather option? The specs do change from Country to Country, see if your leather is heated or not.

    Hope that helps!

Slightly wrong on question two Biggy. In the THP ESP can be turned off and will remain off.

So theres no hold ESP button in 4 5 seconds and it goes fully off? :P
I have a brand new Golf wich u cant fully turn off, but u can take it off so i it alows more slip. Is that not possible with the DS3?

        EDIT: Oh thx Dangerousfish

          I stand corrected Fish!

You're right as the THP 150 ESP will remain off, the other engine models the system will come back on.

No bother, literally just tap it and you'll get a notification next to the tacho to advise it's turned off. As you said. Always fun for the occasional "swift turn"

But is there no one here who have really tryed it on snow packed roads with real winter tires?
Not that i expect it to drive like a 4wd raly car :P

EDIT: Also, how much BHP and torque u get with remap?

As Zack said with a replacement air filter and the remap you should be putting out about 190Bhp, with regards to nm's CooperKiller posted up his dyno results on another thread. Have a ganders through some of his posts for them

                              Just a small question again.

Ski box, is there a ski box for the DS3?
I guess it would look awesm with a big ski box on top. I would love to see a picture.
