  • Wheel Corrosion

Very recently I've noticed both my wheels on the left side seem to be corroded/damaged. Not around the centre cap as I've seen in some other threads on here but the whole wheel feels rough to the touch and looks dull.
I'd appreciate any advice/opinions you may have.

Closeup of the front left wheel:

    Same wheel:

Wheel on the right side for reference, both wheels on the right are fine:

Wow not see that before. It looks like a really bad amount of corrosion or a bodged repair doesn't it ? I'd deffo get that into the dealer for assessment

Just noticed, that has been there a long time, whatever though. Were they cleaned with a very aggressive wheel cleaner? That is what it looks like. Or they where never clear coated at the factory. A wheel referbishment place would be able to make them new looking again.

I've only had the car since October; they certainly weren't like that on the showroom floor. I'll admit I haven't checked them regularly since then though.
It gets cleaned semi-regularly by hand at the local car washing place and I'm not sure they even use wheel cleaner.

Do you think Citroen would entertain the idea of a warranty replacement?

Never hurts to try. Give it a go.

Quick update in case anyone was interested. I took it to the garage on Tuesday and they agreed to replace the wheels free of charge. It was in again this morning having them fitted and I've just now collected it again with shiny new wheels!
